Louise Cook, 82, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:50 P.M., Monday, April 7, 2003 at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Louise was a nurse for thirty years and had worked at Marshall Browning Hospital, Pinckneyville Hospital, and Chester Mernard Mental Health. She had also worked at the Du Quoin State Fair Emergency Room for sixteen years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Du Quoin and Euzelian Sunday School Class.
She was born April 7, 1921 at Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of William and Tressie (Manion) Johnson.
She married Ralph E. Cook on December 11, 1987 at West Frankfort, IL and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, three daughters - Eloise Coffel of Du Quoin, Donna Brocaille of Tamaroa and Connie Martin of Albuquerque, New Mexico, one step daughter - Sharon Cook of Illiopolis, Illinois, two brothers - Earl Dean Johnson and William Robert Johnson, both of Florida, ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son and one step son.
Funeral services were at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 11, 2003 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Bob Dickerson officiating. Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. Interment was in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery at Du Quoin.
