Mrs. Averell was the daughter of Phil. and Mary George [sic] of Eureka, Wisconsin. Had been married hardly a year, and a resident of Wyoming for only a short time. She had made many friends in her new home by her ladylike ways and charming Christian manner. Her untimely death is mourned by a large circle of friends. The body was taken east on Monday morning train to be intered [sic] at her old home in Wisconsin.

Sophia was born in Rushford, Winnebago, Wisconsin and married James Averell on February 23, 1882 at the Methodist Church in Eureka, Winnebago, Wisconsin.
