Robin Renee Alway passed away at home in Redmond, on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011 after a nine-year battle with colon cancer.

She was born in Minot, ND on June 30, 1961 to Walter and Glenda (Mergel) Olson. She grew up in Prineville where she graduated from Crook County High School in 1979.

She worked for the United States Forest Service for 33 years until she retired on March 25, 2011. She married Jay Alway on Sept. 28, 2003 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Robin was baptized Sept. 3, 1961 at Zion Lutheran in Berthold, ND. She was confirmed June 1974 at Our Saviors Lutheran in Prineville. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran in Bend.

Robin and her husband enjoyed working around the home to enhance the appearance with numberous projects both inside and out. Weekend get-a-way trips to Reno were also frequently taken, and Robin loved the pai-gow poker tables where she was often a table favorite with many people betting on her hand. She loved attending concerts both in Portland and Reno, as well as some locally.

Robin worked as a webmaster for a National Incident Management team, setting up an incident webside to assist locals with vital information and to provide the nation with a perspective of the team's progress.

Robin was an ardent OSU Beaver football fan and attended games when she could with her husband and nieces. She loved playing fantasy football and was the only woman in her league. In addition, she kept her mind challenged with sudoku and other mind challenging card games. Robin's love of her life was her four grandsons, who always perked her up and brought smiles of love from her.

She is survived by husband, Jay; three boys, Bruce (Jamie) Nash of Redmond, Jared (Andrea) Nash of Prineville, and Kyle Nash of Prineville; stepson, Greg Alway of Lake Stevens, Wash; four grandchildren Owen and Garrett Nash, and Zachary and Brodie Nash; three brothers, Randy, Bradley (Robin), and Glenn (Mary) Olson; sisters, Holly Olson and Corrina Jaeger (Randy).

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter and daughter, Casi Nash.
