Mrs. Mary Magdalene McCormick, 90, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E C [Mary] Preston, in Livingston on Sunday, May 5 at 11 a.m. were conducted on Monday at 10 o'clock a.m. at Bethlehem by the Rev Dewey Organ, pastor of the Livingston Methodist Church.
Mrs. McCormick was a native of Jefferson County, and came to Overton County with her parents, Mr & Mrs Andrew Jackson Livingston, 87 years ago and settled at Oak Hill, where she lived until a few years ago, when she came to Livingston to make her home with her daughter.
She was married to Reuben Jackson McCormick, who was killed while plowing in the field, by a small band of Confederate guerillas, leaving Mrs. McCormick with five small children.
Surviving are one son, Valentine J McCormick; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Preston and Mrs Viola Winton of Livingston, Miss Minnie McCormick of Cookeville, and Mrs. Caroline Clark of Castillian Springs.
