Mrs. G. Dampier,
75, Passes Away
in Town of Grant

Mrs. George Dampier, 75, passed
away at her home in the town of
Grant, Portage county, at 3:30 a. m.
today after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held Sun-
day at 2 p. m. from the Baker
chapel here with the Rev. A. W.
Triggs officiating. Burial will be in
the Greenwood cemetery in the town
of Armenia, Juneau county.
Mrs. Dampier, nee Ida May Jos-
lin, was born in the town of Ar-
menia, on August 6, 1866, the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Joslin. She has been a resident of
this vicinity all her life and has
lived in the town of Grant for the
past 20 years.
On December 25, 1886 she was
married to George Dampier in Wis-
consin Rapids. Three of her chil-
dren preceded the mother in death.
Surviving are her husband; five
sons, Henry and Dewey, town of
Grant; Leonard, Two Rivers; and
James and Wilmot, both of Janes-
ville; four daughters, Mrs. Rudolph
Reinolt, Bancroft; Mrs. Walter
Buss, town of Grant; Mrs. James
Quiniby, Big Flats; and Mrs. Denis
Sherman, Waukesha; two brothers,
Leonard Joslin, Waukesha, and
Richard Joslin, Arcadia, Cal.; one
sister, Mrs. Harry Peck, town of
Armenia; 55 graandchildren, and 11
great-grandchildren.
The body will remain at the
chapel until the time of services.
