IT WAS THE WILL OF GOD
Last Monday, as the day had reached its fullness, a human soul in Perry accomplished its mission on earth, and the word of God made it immoral. In answer to the Heavenly Father, the soul of Miss Eunice Norwood passed from its tenement of clay and its companionship of mortals into the realms of eternal happiness.
She was the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Norwood, about 23 years of age. Lovely in feature and figure, lovable in speech and disposition, she held as a reward of merit the love of all who knew her well.
Having entered the portals of womanhood, equipped in mind, disposition and sentiment for the full enjoyment of the pure and real pleasures of life, words cannot depict the sorrow her death has caused. As a sweet, pure part of their lives she was dear to the hearts of parents, sisters, brother, her grand mothers and other relatives. For three long weeks she suffered, and then the call of God summoned the soul to His eternal realms, and the dear lips of clay were wreathed with a smile of divine peace.
All the medical science and unmeasurable love could suggest was done, but the divine decree had been issued, and today the soul of Eunice Norwood is a companion of the blessed in the home of the Father. She was a consistent member of the Methodist church, a Christian.
Tuesday afternoon, the funeral rites were lovingly performed in Evergreen cemetery, and the mortal is at rest.
Attending the solemn rites, in addition to almost the entire population of the town, were relatives and friends from Macon, Fort Valley, Montezuma and other places, who by their presence attested their high esteem for the departed one, and their tender sympathy for those so sorely bereaved.
In tender sympathy the hearts of all these people sorrow with the bereaved ones, and those who have faith are certain that there will be a blissful re-union on the eternal shores.

This was followed by an equally long article signed Father and Mother detailing their feelings upon losing their daughter and their appreciation for the community show of expressions of respect for her.
