Patricia Alice Ledwich was born on December 17th 1906 to John Franklin Ledwich and Agnes May (Davis) Ledwich. She was one of 8 (known) children born to the Ledwich family.

Her siblings are;
1) Blanche McCusker #37401645
2) Eleanor Mary Wilkinson
(Mentioned in obituary-Not located on FindAGrave)
Birth 21 Jul 1892 in North Dakota
Death 23 Mar 1984 in Burbank, Los Angeles, California, USA
3) Frances Lemeke #37400383
4) Maude Catherine Ledwich #37400514
5) Stanley Edward Ledwich #37400500
6) John Fredrick Ledwich #37400569
7) Patricia Alice Merrick-Dobson #78504208
8) Hugh Ledwich #37400587

She was born in North Dakota and moved to Seattle Washington sometime between 1925 and 1930. She married Harry J. Merrick on December 2nd 1931 in Seattle. In either Dec 1936 or Jan 1937 she and Harry moved to Los Angeles, California where her father John was living. Her husband Harry committed suicide on March 11th 1937. At some point she moved to Tucson, Arizona.

In Tucson she was mentioned almost monthly in the newspaper, for years, as a member of the Pilot Club. She was listed as "Patricia Merrick," starting in the early/mid 1940's. On 9 Nov 1946 in Phoenix, Maricopa, Arizona she married George A Dobson. They were both residents of Tucson at the time. Starting January 1947 she is called Mrs. Patricia Dobson but retains the same Pilot Club title (treasurer). Sometimes she is listed as "Patricia Merrick Dobson" so perhaps she replaced Alice with Merrick as a middle name. The obituary notice does not mention children and I see no mention of a husband, perhaps he died between 1947 and 1968 or they were divorced prior to her death. I have been unable to discover more about George Dobson except that he was born around 1900.

It is known that in the 1930 Seattle census she was listed as Nurse/Lab Technician. In 1957 Patricia Dobson is the President of ASSXT, an X-Ray Technician organization that used to host an annual convention. By all accounts it seems she was a very smart woman.

Note; I am not a descendent of Patricia. She was the 2nd wife of my great grandfather Harry (who had run away from his first family) and I did much research on Patricia trying to determine if she and Harry had any children that our family was unaware of. If you have more information or would like a transfer because you are family I would love to hear from you!
