Philo Baldwin of 7 Thomas St, passed away at 3:00 this afternoon of a complication of diseases. Mr Baldwin had been ill for a number of months past, being obliged to relinquish his position as traveling salesman for B. Payn & Sons, the Albany tobacco firm. Mr Baldwin was a native of Schoharie Co, but had resided here for a number of years. He conducted a cafe & restaurant on Church St previous to becoming connected to the tobacco firm. He was a Republican in politics and had an active part in the welfare of his party. He was a member of the Amsterdam lodge of Elks, and had a host of friends through out this section who will learn with regret of his death.
