Martha was the daughter of Fredrich Tripke and his wife, Maria Wartchow. While she had seven siblings, only she, her brother Otto, and her brother Walter would survive to maturity. Her parents loved her dearly, and they called her "Clarchen". She married William Dollase on December 4, 1909. They made there home in Watertown and would have eight children. The eldest, Hazel, died at the age of 11. Martha loved her family and was very proud of them all. During her married life to help make ends meet she worked in a factory and as a housekeeper. Sadly, Martha developed heart disease at a relatively young age. She died at home at the age of 64.
