UXBRIDGE - William A. "Bill" Albin, 64, died Friday in Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital, Milford, after a short illness.
He leaves his mother, Louise (Lajoie) Albin; two brothers, Alan R. and Carl L. Albin, all of Uxbridge; three sisters, Rose M. Shugrue of Putnam, Conn., Esther D. Albin and Louise A. Gadbois, both of Uxbridge; aunts and uncles, including Fire Chief William Albin; nephews and nieces.
He was born in Uxbridge, son of Axel Albin, and lived here most of his life. He then lived 13 years in Westerly before returning here.
Mr. Albin graduated from Uxbridge High School and attended Bryant College in Rhode Island.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with Co. D, 743rd Tank Battalion, in the European-African-Middle Eastern theater.

Mr. Albin was an arborist for 13 years in Westerly, R.I., retiring in 1989. He was previously a caretaker for many years at the estate of the former Harold J. Walters.
Mr. Albin was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. He was a founding member, and a past master and huntsman, of the Tanheath Beagle Club. He won several club awards. He was also an enthusiastic horseman.
The funeral will be held Tuesday from Buma Funeral Home, 101 North Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 77 Mendon St. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made instead to the Rhode Island Renal Institute, 1 West Drive, Westerly, R.I. 02891.
