Harry III was DOA at Possum Park Emergency Center on the night of December 13th. Because it was so close to the next day, apparently they wrote his death date on the gravestone as the 14th.

Husband of (1) Shirley (Short) (Dayett) Irwin, and (2) C. Gay Dayett.

Obituary from The Morning News, Wilmington, DE, Dec. 15, 1971, p. 41:

Harry L. Dayett III, 48, of 1726 S. College Ave., Glasgow, was dead on arrival Monday night at Possum Park Emergency Center, apparently of a heart attack. The state medical examiner said Mr. Dayett died of natural causes.

Mr. Dayett worked in the purchasing and shipping department of the Budd Co. Polychem Division, Newark. He was a lifelong resident of the Glasgow area.

He belonged to Glasgow United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. C. Gay Dayett; a son, Timothy, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Linda S. Cunane and Mrs. F. Constance McVey, both of Newark; his mother, Mrs. Sarah M. Laws of Glasgow; two sisters, Mrs. Mary D. Jordan and Mrs. Florence D. Ogden, both of Glasgow; and a granddaughter.

Services will be Friday afternoon at 2 at the Robert T. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, where friends may call tomorrow night. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Chesapeake City.
