Funeral services for Dr. Hadden B. Smith, age 66, were held from the home here Saturday, September 23, with the Rev. E. L. Jackson, former pastor of the Livingston Presbyterian Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Henry Niles, present pastor.

Following a brief illness, Dr. Smith died at his home Friday ending a career of 45 years as dentist in Livingston. Born at Opelousas Lal, he moved to Livingston in his early boyhood. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in the class of 1899 and began practice here upon graduation, and made Livingston his home. An elder in the Presbyterian Church, he was treasurer for a number of years, and at the time of his death.

Interment followed in Myrtlewood cemetery with Mathis-Jones funeral home officiating. Pallbearers were: Major Jo Tartt and nephews, Dudley McAllister, Paul Steith, Leon Sledge, John Rogers, Barnes Rogers.

Surviving are two daughters, Miss Jean Smith, of Anniston; Miss Lena Smith, Livingston; four sons, Hadden B. Smith, Galveston, Texas; Louis R. Smith, Livingston; Lt. Thomas B. Smith, of the Air Corps in England; Lt. John B. Smith, North Camp Hood, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. C. H. Pinson and Mrs. D. W. Brown, Hapeville, Georgia; a brother, C. B. Smith of Birmingham, Ala.
