Mary (Childers) Lanier, age 57, wife of Gerald Lanier of Lockhart, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Oakmont Nursing Home.
Mrs. Lanier was born in Union County, South Carolina, on September 7, 1954, a daughter of the late Vernon Lewis Childers and Helen (McSwain) Childers.
She was a member of Lockhart Freewill Baptist Church and a graduate of Lockhart High School.
Mrs. Lanier worked at Lockhart Mill for 24 years.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son Jackie Lanier of the home; a brother Daniel Childers of Union; and a nephew: Daniel Childers, Jr. of Union.
Mrs. Lanier was predeceased by two sisters: Melinda Childers and Martha Nichols.
Graveside Services were held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 17, 2011 at Lockhart Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Frank Cantrell.
The family received friends following the graveside service at the cemetery.
