He married my Mother's sister Viola F. Hall.


Hillard W. Smith of Copeland Blvd., passed away December 13 at age 78. Mr. Smith worked for the City of Toledo, 31 years, retiring January 1, 1977 as assistant Superintendent of the Solid Waste Division.


Surviving are his wife, Viola: sons, Hillard W. Smith Jr. (Lyn), Montpelier, OH and Larry E Smith (Jayne). Perrysburg, OH; daughters Joyce Y. Salway (Jim) Fort Wayne, IN and Darlene Pickle (Robert), Clinton, OH; sister, Jean Crosbie, Bluffton, IN, 17 grandchilden; and 9 great-grandchildren.


Friends may call at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blve. at Byrne Rd. after 7 PM Saturday and Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 PM where services will be held Monday 10;30 AM. Interment Toledo Memorial Park. Family suggest tributes in the form of contributions to the charity of the donor's choice.


I remember when I went over there when I was young my uncle had a little dog that he trained. The dog could count and climb up and down a little ladder.
