Henry Curtis Drescher, a well-known former citizen of La Grange and of Maywood vicinity, died January 1 (1941) at the home of his son, Roscoe, at Wyaconda, age 80 years. He had been failing for several years but was ill only a few days. Burial in Midway Cemetery. Mr Drescher was born in Palmyra, November 23, 1860, a son of Jacob and Barbara Stoner Drescher. He lived for a few years in Clark County but spent most of his life in this county, having been employed by Judge D G Lillard in farm work for 30 years. He was married, November 18, 1883, to Catherine Louise Bogener, who died January 24, 1905. Of six children, five are living: Roscoe of Wyaconda, Alfonzo of Gorin, Ralph, Mrs Tillie Sturhan and David Drescher of La Grange. He leaves six brothers: John and Charles of Ewing; Will of Quincy; August of La Grange; George of Peetz, CO and Ed of Sioux Falls, SD. Two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
