mrs. sadie kinnison, 80, died in an enid hospital early this morning after a lingering illness. she was a native of missouri and came to enid some 40 years ago. she is a member of the first methodist church, the ladies auxiliary of the b of rt, a lifetime member of the white shrine of jerusalem, and ruth chapter no. 447 of the order of eastern star.
survivors include two daughters, miss avonelle venable, missouri, mrs. ersa snapp, borger texas, one son, william lewis venable of vian, oklahoma, eight grandchildren and one sister, mrs. clara alberta, oklahoma city, two brothers, mr. jack minear, long beach, calif., and robert minear, arkansas city, kansas.

she is listed in the family Bible as alzadia, but no one called her that and she certainly didn't, she was sadie. she is second of 7 children. the others are armada, vesper, cevadia,clara,celia, robert and isaac.
on october 22,1891, she married thomas mead venable in linn county, missouri. just after their third child was born, thomas died suddenly of pneumonia. she left mary avonelle with her in laws, sent william lewis to live with an uncle in western oklahoma, and moved to enid with baby ersa to be near her folks.
sadie married eli kinnison on october,16,1901. they lived together in enid for 19 years and he died. she remained a widow in enid the rest of her days. she was a gregarious personality, a flambouyant dresser and enjoyed membership in many fraternal organizations.
