Lafayette Westbrook was a good friend of mine. I enjoyed the talks that he and I had. We first met at Wayne Community College when I was taking his American History class in 1978. Lafayette loved History, especially Civil War History. The Bentonville Battleground was his backyard. He was a good man and an inspiration to me. The last time I had spoke with him was in December, 1999 while I was visiting Goldsboro, North Carolina. I will miss Layfayette very much. God Bless you Sir.
