Allen Franklin Alban, 90, of Hampstead, died Friday, May 3, 2002, at his home, after a short illness.
Born Aug. 12, 1911, in Hampstead, he was the son of the late Irving Alban and Nora Tracey Alban. He was the husband of Pauline Boring Alban, his wife of 62 years.
He was a veteran of the Air Force, serving in World War II, where he was stationed in London, England.
He was a retired welder from Black & Decker in Hampstead. Prior to retirement, he had also worked as a plasterer, for Martin-Marietta, and for Albantown Radiator.
He was a past president and founder of the Pretty Boy Hunt Club, and a member of the Hampstead American Legion.
He belonged to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Manchester.
Surviving are daughters Linda E. Helman of Pikesville, Sharon M. Martin of Hampstead, and Ardice L. Holbrook of Manchester; sisters Bernice Pitts of Hanover, Pa., and Charlotte Ott of Baltimore; brothers Walter Alban of Glen Rock, Pa., and Fred Alban of Hanover, Pa.; five granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
Sisters Sadie Rother and Grace Klinedinst; and a brother, Russell Alban, predeceased him.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, with the Revs. Matthew and Norma Schenning officiating. Interment will be in the New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
