Mrs. Pierson was a member of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. She had served as a Red Cross Volunteer for 15 years and had also volunteered at Knox County Interchurch Social Services. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society.
Surviving are her daughters Patsy (Bill) Jenkins of Mount Vernon and Pam (Jim) Parker of Mount Vernon; her sons Mike (Cherylee) Pierson of Casper, Wyoming and Ron (Jackie) Pierson of Vineland, New Jersey; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and her sister Barbara (Charles) Newman of Belle Center. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband T.E. "Whitey" Pierson in 1985 and a sister Maxine Smith.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 PM with Rev. Rod Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
