The funeral service for William Burgnre Jr., 61, of Route 10, the Camp Creek community, will be held at 2pm Friday at Doughty-Stevens Chapel with interment in Greenelawn Memory Gardens. The Rev. Ken Dyer and the Rev. William Casey will officiate.

Mr. Burgner died Tuesday in the Veterans Administration Center in Mountain Home.

He was a famer and a member of V.F.W. Post #1990. A veteran of the Korean War, he had received the Korean Service Medal with two bronze stars, the Combat Infantry Badge (SO 131 Headquarters 224th Infantry). U.N. Service Medal, and the Natioanl Defense Service Metal.

Survivors include three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Annie and Raymond Hall of Mosheim, Willie and Oscar Jones of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Mary Hogan of the home; three sisters-in-law: Pauline Burgner of Cleveland, Nancy Burgner, and Christine Burgner, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: William F. and Myrtle Burgner; two sisters: Cora Belle Taylor and Genva Burgner; two brothers: Grover H. Burgner and James Burgner, several half-sisters and half-brothers.

The active pallbearers will be Pete Crum, L.A. Johnson, Gene Kelley, Roy Dean Scott, Lynn Price, Richard Hall.

The honorary pallbearers will be Claude George, Wade Crum, Gerald Shelton, Curtis Wilhoit, Manual Parkins, Ray Johnson, William A. Ricker, Marvin Bowman, Bill Ricker, Bud Gosnell, Dr. Ben J. Keebler, and Dr. Thomas Beckner.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 this evening at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
