Faye A. Moffat, 88, of Fremont, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1993 at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa.
She was born April 28, 1905 in Thornburg to Albert (sic) and Anna Grund Dahlstrom.
She married william Neil Moffat; he died in May of 1958.
She earned a Masters Degree from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville, Mo. and taught School for 41 years. She began teaching in Country School, Cedar Consolidated and for many years taught Elementary School in the Ottumwa Schools.
She held memberships in the White Shrine; Pythian Sisters, Oskaloosa Temple No. 2; Daughters of the Nile, Netaker Temple No. 11; Laf-A-Lot Club; Ottumwa Business and Professional Women; Retired Teachers Association; Delta Kappa Gamma; and was a past matron of O.E.S. in Fremont. She was also a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church, and United Methodist Women.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Robert A. and Marge Moffat of Westminister, Calif.; Bill and Pauline of Crystal Springs, Pa.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Moore of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Ellen Fairfield, Edith Shepard, Lillian Grady and Blanche Reinert; and four brothers, Edwin, Emil, Arthur and Harry Dahlstrom.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 7 at the Fremont Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Pacifico Camarin officiating.
Burial was at McFarlan Cemetery near What Cheer.
