Lance Roland Kennelly, 38, of Huntersville, Minnesota, died Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at Innovis Health in Fargo, North Dakota.
Lance was born to Francis and Dorothy (Funk) Kennelly on May 31, 1966, in Wadena, Minnesota. After completing high school in Menahga, Minnesota, Lance served in the United States Army. Lance enjoyed hunting with black powder as well as modern firearms, fishing, camping, canoeing, playing pool, and horseback riding. Lance’s many talents included but were not limited to, operating logging equipment, trucking, welding, roofing, siding and mechanics. He assisted his father in running the Huntersville Wood Products Shaving Mill.
Lance is survived by his fiancé, Jessica Johnson; mother, Dorothy Kennelly; sister, Ramona Roth; daughters, Kasey, Haley, Bridget and Skyler; one son, Jerry; grandmother, Verna Funk; niece, Rhiannon “Oakley” Roth; nephew, Zach Fransen; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He will be greatly and sadly missed by his family and friends and two dogs, Wiess and Buddy.
His father grandmother and two grandfathers preceded him in death.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 13, at Faith Assembly of God Church in Pine River with Reverend Tim Walker officiating. Organist was Lisa Walker. Lance’s friends provided special music. Guy L. McDermeit V.F.W. Post 6206 of Menahga provided military honors. Cardini-Behrens Funeral Home in Menahga was in charge of arrangements.
