Eldon Harrison (PeeWee) Jones, 89, died in Dallas Saturday, January 14. Funeral services were held Jan. 28, 2006, in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Cude and Dr. James Ballard officiating.

Mr. Jones was born August 1, 1916, in Gustine, Comanche County, the son of Oscar Fount (Bill) Jones and Clara Albin Jones.

When he was young the family moved to Hamilton County where he resided his entire life. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1933 and was the president of the senior class. He later attended the University of Texas at Austin.

In 1936 Mr. Jones was married to Earline Smith. She preceded him in death in March of 1981.

At a later date he married Obera Richey Cude, a high School classmate. In 1938 he became a partner in the Smith and Jones Cotton Gin and Farm Implement business, retiring in 1982.

During World War II he served in the Air Force from 1942 to 1946 as a radar operator and navigator in the Fifth Air Force in the Pacific. Mr. Jones served his community in many ways: on the Hamilton City Council, Hamilton Independent School Board and the Hamilton Hospital Board. He was a member of Park Heights Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife Obera Jones of Hamilton; one daughter, Patricia Jones; granddaughters Debbie Lack and her husband Jeff, Christi Forenan and her husband Brad; great-grandchildren Jacob and Jeremy Lack and Charlie and Piper Foreman as well as extended family members Kirby Cude and family, Kevin and Wendy Cude and family and LaMerle Deca and family.

Pallbearers were Miller Gunn, Alfred Hohertz, Travis Moore, Gary Schoen, Bert Shrank, Don Grant, Mike Parker, James Weathers, Ollie Zschiesche, Jerry Zschiesche, Jack Davidson, and Pete Jordan.
