Abigail Catherine Cook was born August 27th 1832, in Greenville, Licking County, Ohio.
She came to Marshall Michigan and resided with her aunt and uncle. While there she was married to John Emory Pierce on the 28th day of August 1856. To this union children were born, three boys and three girls of which five are still living. She died March 21st 1916, surviving her husband 10 months and 29 days.
She leaves 5 children, Mrs. Caine (sic Carrie) S. Lawrence, Fred Pierce, Alma Carrie (sic Carey), Bentley Pierce, Emmett Pierce, twelve grand children, besides a host of friends.
The funeral was held at 1:30 o'clock at the house March 23. Burial in the Pierce cemetery. Rev. Palmatier officiated.
