Margaret Lucille (Hamilton) Rowe, 80, Ellendale, died wednesday, March 18, 1992, at Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen.
Margaret was born July 18, 1911, to Alvin and Etta (Salmon)Hamilton at Forbes, ND. She was raised and educated in the Forbes, ND area and graduated from the Forbes High School in 1929. She then went on to Ellendale Normal College. She met Francis "Frank" Rowe and they were married June 29, 1937, in Ellendale, ND. Margaret taught country school for a few years until in 1944, when Margaret and Frank were blessed with a son, Richard "Dick". She didn't work outside the home until after Dick graduated. Margaret did accounting for Mack's Plumbing & Heating for years. She did a lot of volunteer work over the years and she belonged to Homemakers, PTA, church groups and other organizations.
Grateful to have shared in her life are her husband Francis "Frank" of Ellendale, ND; one son, Richard (Gloria) Rowe of Monticello, Minn; one brother, Edward Hamilton of Deer Lodge, Mont.; two sisters, Hazel Hemmerling and Myrtle Waddel, both of Portland, Ore.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Margaret's funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian United Methodist Church in Ellendale, ND. The Rev. Steven Tvedt will officiate.
Burial will be in the Ellendale City Cemetery under the direction of Holte Funeral Home in Ellendale, N.D.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
