BOUNTIFUL -- Joseph Fielding Patrick , Sr., age 78, passed away Monday, December 18, 2000 at his home in Bountiful, Utah.
Born April 4, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William Thorn and Edith Eleanor Smith Patrick .
Married Ethel Reader Call,
January 10, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Joseph served in the East Central States Mission and also served a mission in Hong Kong with his eternal companion.
He served faithfully in the Joseph Smith Sr. Family Organization as well as the Joseph F. Smith Family Organization. He was a member of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers and was currently serving in the Stake Mission presidency. He was a former bishopric member and High Councilor. He loved serving in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Joseph earned his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Utah in Civil Engineering and worked as a structural engineer. He loved playing golf and handball, and helping his family.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Ethel ; sons, Joseph F. Jr. of DelRay Beach, FL, Jesse C. (Gayle) of West Valley City; Daniel C. (Kris) of Troy, Michigan; daughters, Frances (Steven) Orton of Provo, Utah, Andrea (Ronald) Black of Centerville; Stacey (Louis) Barfuss of Smithfield; 22 grandchildren; sisters, Trilva Patrick of Salt Lake City; Eleanor Richards of Sandy, Utah, and Mary Ostler of Bountiful.
His parents; brother, Robert; and a grandchild preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 22, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the Val Verda Third Ward LDS Chapel, 2633 South 50 West, Bountiful. Friends and family may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Friday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the LDS Church Missionary fund are suggested.
