Albert Briggs, 79, died Dec.3, at Kansas City.
He was born Jan 1, 1914, at Brookfield, Son of Elias and Stacy (Newman) Briggs. He and Mary Ann Welch were married March 6, 1940 at Marceline. They moved to Kansas City in 1943 and he worked for the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department for over 30 years. He retired in 1975.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Joseph Michael, Kansas City; four daughters, Sharon Alumbaugh of Belton, Linda Boyle of Liberty, Donna Flanagan and Deborah Venyard of Kansas City; a sister, Ruby Herington of La Mirada, CA.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Briggs was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Myrtle, and four brothers, Earl Leander, Cecil, Ralph and Edward.
Services were 10:30 a.m. Dec. 6, at Sheil Funeral Home, Kansas City, with the Rev. William Pennell officiating. Burial was at Mt. Washington cemetery, Independence.
