Betty Gail Parker
June 29, 1926 - January 12, 2008
Age 81, of Roseville, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2008 from a stroke. Betty loved to laugh and enjoyed her family and friends. She grew up in Deer Park, Missouri and her father passed away when she was young. It made a difficult life for her mother, 2 sisters and a brother. They had a large extended family with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Betty met Ray during the war and they were married while he was in the Air Force over 63 years ago. They lived in Bloomington, IL and Lincoln, NE before settling down in Roseville, MN over 45 years ago. Betty was a homemaker and seamstress. She enjoyed working with her hands sewing, knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed bowling in the winter and golfing in the summer. Betty enjoyed the years they spent as Snowbirds spending winters in Mesa, AZ with their friends at Brentwood West. Her loss of eyesight in recent years made it impossible for her to enjoy doing the things that she loved. Betty will be remembered as a kind, thoughtful friend as well as a loving wife and mother. She is survived by husband Ray; children Judy (Jack) S., Mike (Karen) P., and Debi (Tom) B.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and sisters Juanita R. and Ramona E. Funeral service 11:00 AM Thursday, January 17 at CENTENNIAL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 1524 Co. Road C2 at Snelling, Roseville. Visitation 5-7 PM Wednesday, January 16 at HOLCOMB-HENRY-BOOM FUNERAL HOME 515 Hwy 96 at Mackubin, Shoreview (651-482-7606) and again on Thursday one hour before the service. Interment Roselawn Cemetery.
