He was a son of the late Bertie Lynn Gooch Estes and Denny Lee Estes.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sue Ann Coomer Estes; two daughters and a son, Teresa (Kenny) Hardy, Nicholasville, KY, Tammy Thompson, Greenville, TN, and Dennis Lee Estes, Lexington, KY. Additional survivors are four grandchildren, Brandon, Ciara, Candace, and Chynna; two sisters, Vernie (Herman) Bennett, Lexington, KY, and Ella May French, Jacksonville, FL; also several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Otis (Versie) Estes, Eubank, KY; and one sister, Vergie Doolin, Kettering, OH.
Ronald moved to Lexington from Eubank in 1961. He ran a successful plumbing company for many years. He touched everyone who knew him. He was a beloved Christian husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Saylor, Carroll Estes, Jerry Bennett, Kenny Hardy, Jason Estes, and Greg Burden. Honorary Pallbearers are Dennis Estes, Dr. John Baldwin, Ashley Welch, Barry Britton, Lewis Hardman, Gene Cooper and Walter Lewis Gooch.

Ronald was a Kentucky National Guardsman in earlier life.
He recruited several young men into the Army National Guard.
