Frances Rogers Sheffield Redfield, 92, died June 30, 2007, at The Meadows Nursing Facility. She was born Aug. 11, 1914, in Itawamba County to the late I.L. and Anna Rogers Walker Sheffield. She was formerly Miss Fulton. She was a member of the Fulton United Methodist Church and a member of the Itawamba County Chapter D.A.R.
Services were July 3 at the Fulton United Methodist Church with burial in the Hillcrest Masonic Cemetery.
Survivors included one sister, Martha Lewis Sheffield Gibbs of Fulton; 15 nieces and nephews, Dr. Steve Izard, William Izard, Dr. Genie Mize Adams, H. Paula Mize, Margo Marlin, Sidney Dilgren, Paul "Buzzy" Mize Jr., Paul Gibbs Jr., Mary Rogers Koon, Martha Lewis Curlee, William Leo Tilton, Marcie Tilton, Katherine Tilton, Patrick Tilton, Louis Roberts Tilton, Jill Mithun and Susan Mithun.; several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Pettie Redfield, who died Sept. 11, 1980; two brothers, Isaac "Ike" Sheffield and Lewis McKendrick "Buddy" Sheffield; two sisters, Virginia Dare Izard and Hazel Walker Mize; and two nephews, Phil Izard Jr. and Jim Izard.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Steve Izard, Paul "Buzzy" Mize Jr., Paul Gibbs Jr., David Pressler and Dr. Roger Marlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Russell, Stacy Russell, Tom Childs and her great-nephews.
