Jack Monroe Ellis and two of their other nieces whom they raised, Juanita Ellis and Genelle Ellis whom she considered her brother and sisters.

June (Ellis) Landrith had an older half-sister named Lucille (Ellis) Mahalovich, and an older half-brother named Lloyd Kelley.

The following announcement was printed in the newspaper in Sedalia, Missouri in 1943: Ellis-Landrith Announcement

"Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Ellis announce the marriage of their daughter, June to Mr. Clayton Landrith, ship's cook second class, on the U.S.S. Lawrence, who has San Francisco as his fleet base. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G.L. McPherson of Kansas City. Their marriage took place at 9 o'clock, Friday, August 13, at the First Presbyterian Church in San Rafael, Calif. The bride was attended by her sister Mrs. Dan (Juanita Ellis) Davis . The best man was Pvt. Dan P. Davis. The couple will live in Berkely, Calif."

June was born in Kansas City, Missouri and lived there throughout her life with the exception of a few years during World War II when she moved to California to work in a defense factory and was subsequently married in San Rafael, CA in 1943. She attended Meservy Grade School then Central Junior High for 9th Grade then subsequently graduated from Central High School, Kansas City, MO in June 1939.

During her life she was employed off and on in various jobs. First with the Hallmark Card Company in Kansas City, Missouri, called Hall Brothers at that time. She also worked for the shipyards in Richmond, CA, State Farm Insurance Company in CA, the Baptist Memorial Hospital Coffee Shop in Kansas City, Missouri and Hickory Farms as a part-time seasonal Christmas employee.

Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.
