LONGVIEW — Graveside services for Margie Faye Dagnel, 77, of Hallsville, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Hallsville Cemetery, with Grace O'Connor officiating. Margie left us to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday afternoon at her home. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, October 21, 2011.

Margie was born October 13, 1934, in Avalon, Texas, to Aaron and Cecille Blackerby. She attended school in Lancaster, Texas. Margie worked in Dallas in retail in the early '50s and '60s at Peacock Jewelry and Margo La Mode's. She then went to work for six doctors at Oak Cliff Medical and Surgical Hospital until she decided to be a stay at home mom in 1968.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Homer Dagnel; her daughter, Vicki Roane; granddaughter Jennifer Vanderslice; and her parents, Aaron and Cecille Blackerby. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Pat Hill; her brother, Mike Blackerby; and many other loved ones.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Mike Johannes; daughter, Carla Dagnel; her grandchildren, Selena Roane and Michael Vanderslice; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Aaron Jr. and Ron Blackerby; sisters, Linda Rogers and Judy McCuistion; her loving companions, Cassie and Boots; and many other loving family and friends.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to The Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd Tyler, TX 75701.
