Florence L. (Colarusso) Stoddard, 86, of Brockton, died Oct. 19, 2011. A graduate of Brockton High Night School, Florence worked in stitching factories throughout Brockton for many years until taking the Civil Service test. She was then hired to work in the Unemployment Office in Brockton, where she retired in the early 1990s. Florence loved to travel, taking frequent trips to Italy, Israel, Florida and California. She belonged to the Brockton YMCA for many years and was very active and loved to take walks. She also loved music, cooking and gardening. Florence was the wife of the late Richard M. Stoddard; loving mother of Judy Bachman (and Lynn) of North Easton, Karen Seal (and Greg) of Riverside, R.I., William Stoddard (and Wendy) of Assonet, Maureen Folly (and Richard) of Waltham and the late Donna Andrews; dear grandmother of Isabella Bachman, Brian, William and Lisa Andrews, Benjamin Seal and Daniel and Emily Stoddard; sister of Carl Colarusso of Brockton, Ralph Colarusso of Florida and the late Mary Hill, Viola Bourassa, Anthony Colarusso and Celia Stets; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Sunday 2-6 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Monday at 9 a.m., funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Avon, and burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Avon.
