Mrs. Current was born in Rockford, Ill., and graduated from Royerton High School. She lived in North Port, Fla., from 1990 until 1994 when she returned to Muncie. She worked at Marhoefer Packing Co. as a meat cutter before retiring and attended Mayfield Church of the Nazarene. She was a member of Peoples Sympathy Club and attended South Biscayne Baptist Church, North Port.
Survivors include a son and a daughter-in-law, Rick and Evelyn Current, Muncie; a daughter and a son-in-law, Connie and Jeff Stewart, Albany; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Gladys Southerland and Roxie Southerland, both of Muncie, and Bert and Lonnie Kearney, Jamestown, Ky.; four grandsons, Dustin Current and Ryan, Chad and Daniel Stewart; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her husband of 48 years, Gerald D. "Pete" Current, a son, Randy Current, and her parents, Abe P. and Susie Clark Guffey, are deceased.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel. Burial will be in Blountsville Cemetery. Calling will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
