FUNERAL SERVICES FOR FLORENCE E. NEEDHAM HELD JANUARY 30th


Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Needham were held Monday afternoon, January 30 in the Bailey Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Fugate officiated. Pallbearers were Bruce Solter, Harold Schaffer, Robert Maiers, Wallace Westhoff, John Warning and Bob Fohrman. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in LaGrange.


Mrs. Needham died Friday, January 27 in Graham Hospital where she had been a patient for two weeks.


Florence Ellery Needham was born at LaGrange, July 6, 1906, a daughter of Dr. W. L. and Alice Byrd Reid Ellery. She was a graduate of the LaGrange High School and the Graham Hospital School of Nursing prior to moving to Keokuk. She was a pediatrics nurse. She worked as a nurse in pediatrics at Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines, Iowa and Blessing hospital in Quincy 25 years as surgery supervisor at Graham hospital, Keokuk.


She was married to P. E. Needham who preceded her in death.


She is survived by her mother of Keokuk, Iowa, a daughter, Mrs. Jane Tallerico, of Keokuk, Iowa, three brothers: General F. W. Ellery, Maitland, Florida, James Ellery of Sioux City, Iowa, a sister, Mrs. Wm. Eaton, Keokuk, Iowa: one aunt, Mrs. Grace O'Neal, Palmyra and two grandchidren, John and Mark Tallarico, Keokuk, Iowa.


Among those from out-of-town who attended the funeral of Mrs. Florence Needham were, Mr. and Mrs. Tallarico and two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Eaton, all of Keokuk, Iowa and a number of nurses from the Graham hospital nurses staff and others from Keokuk.
