Alice Edna Simcox bn 15 March 1868 was indeed born in Ohio as all the records she ever made state her birthplace as Ohio. Probably either Portsmouth or Cincinnatti. I tend too believe Cincinnatti over Portsmouth, either are plausable as Portsmouth is where the Simcox Family immigrated too in 1860 from England. The more likely scenario is Cincinnatti because Alice's parents (Samuel jr & Julia Simcox) were married there March 6 1864 four years prior too Alice's birth (I have original Wed Certificate veiwable on findagrave). Alice did however grow up in Lexington KY which is why the burial record says nativity is Kentucky, of course nativity does not necessarily mean place of Birth as in the burial records for Alice in Reading & Spring Grove Cemetaries. By age 2 in 1870, her parents, her siblings and herself moved to Indianapolis where her father Samuel Simcox had work as a Machinest @ Pheonix Machine works building engines. By no later than 1877 they moved too Lexington so Alice's father (Samuel jr 1848 ) could work with his Father Samuel Simcox Sr(1810) as a machinest at his well known machine shop. Most of the Simcox family lived in Lexington one of original Brothers settled in Portsmouth. In Sept 1882 Alice's mother passed and left Samuel jr to care for many small children. By March of 1888 her father Samuel jr was paralyzed and later died that november leaving many of them orphaned. Alice was fortunately about 20 when her father passed and married almost 2 years later in 1891 too David Frederick Kamm moving too Ohio and living in the Cincinnatti area until she passed in 1918....... ~ info provided by Mark Wadkins
