Actor. A former amateur boxer, he entered films and played in a number of Mack Sennett's Keystone comedies. He was also named the U.S. Amateur Heavyweight Boxing Champion in 1908. Hired by Douglas Fairbanks Sr. as a trainer in 1915, Kennedy was later hired for bit parts at Keystone Studios. In 1935, Kennedy shared star billing with Monty Collins in a series of 11 two-reelers distributed by Columbia Pictures. Kennedy remained active in films up to 1963. Kennedy appeared in 265 films. His name does not appear on the crypt marker. His ashes were placed inside the crypt along with his daughter Mary Frances who died in the flu epidemic of the 1920s. Contrary to popular belief, he is not related to Edgar Kennedy.
