One Time Prominent Soloist Dies at Her Home
Mrs. Florence Forbes, at one time a prominent soprano soloist of Milwaukee, is dead at her home, 153 Martin-st. She was the widow of Thomas Forbes, a prominent railroad man who died eleven years ago. She is survived by one son, Robert C. Forbes.
As a singer, Mrs. Forbes was well known, appearing on the local concert stage and for several years connected with the Adelphis in their tour about the country. Of ballad singing she made a specialty and for years her singing of Scotch ballads was one of the most anticipated features of the ?St. Andrew society's programmes. For the past six or seven years she has been in ill health and unable to appear in public.
Mrs. Forbes was a native of England and had resided in Milwaukee for about forty years.

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis., Nov. 25. Mrs. Florence Forbes, who came from Milwaukee suffering from the grip and heart trouble, and against the advise of her family physician, to sing in the book social Thursday night, was seized with a distressing pain during her laughing song but bravely finished it and then utterly collapsed in the dressing room. Her physician says she must give up singing for several months or the results will be fatal.
