Alice V. Troxel, 79, of Bloomington, died Monday at Hospitality House in Bloomington.

She was born May 16, 1921, in Cutler, the daughter of Willard and Mary (Pullen) Bowen. She was a private housekeeper at Indiana University, most recently working for Dr. Kenneth Gros Louis. She was a member of the Church of Christ, having attended the Budah, Belmont and North Central churches.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Sides of Bloomington and Sherry Henley of Sugar Creek, Mo.; one son, Richard Troxel of Bloomington; one half sister, Linda Conaway of Camden; one half brother, Wayne Bowen of Cincinnati, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman "Boyd" Troxel, in November of 2000 and one brother, William Bowen.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the North Central Church of Christ with Bros. Robert Fenton and Alan Phillips officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may call at Allen Funeral Home today from 3 until 7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday one hour preceding the services.

Memorial contributions may be made to North Central Church of Christ or to Spring Mill Bible Camp in care of the church.
