Age 82, son of the late Frederick and Maude Burrows Andrews. He had resided in Covina, Calif., for 20 years before moving back to Erie in 1990.

He served during World War II with the 8th Army Air Force in England. He was a flight engineer on the B-17 "Mr. Smith." He was one of the first to complete 25 missions over enemy territory. He was awarded the Flying Cross, Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters, and the Presidential Citation. After returning to the states, he served as an instructor at the Galveston Texas Air Force base. He also served two tours in the Air Force Reserve and a tour as an instructor with the Navy Reserve. He was employed in the hotel industry for many years. He was a life member of a VFW post in California. He enjoyed collecting 8th Army Air Force items. He had an extensive model airplane collection, which he recently donated to the McDowell Intermediate High School's ROTC.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn M. Kelly Andrews, in 2001.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Davies and her husband, Richard, of Millcreek Township; a sister, Eva Seagren of Bradford; two brothers, Stanley Andrews and his wife, Carrye, of Denton, Texas, and Donald Andrews and his wife, Bessie, of Covina, Calif.; a grandson; a great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
