Elizabeth "Betty" Gertrude Frenzel, 92, of Shooks, Minnesota died Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at her home in Shooks.

A Roman Catholic Tridentine Rite Requiem Mass will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 22nd, 2011 at St. Ann's Catholic Church of Blackduck, with Father Christopher Darby officiating. A Rosary will be held at 8 pm on Friday, October 21st, 2011 at the Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Shooks, Minnesota.

Active Pallbearers will be Greg Frenzel, Donovan Osse, Martin Brambrink, Don Norton, Mark Frenzel and Brandon Lockner. Alternates will be Fred Frenzel and Jesse Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Betty's grandchildren.

She was born July 5, 1919 in Shooks, MN to Henry L. and Johanna (Tilch) Neft. She attended and graduated from Shooks School. She married Frederick Frenzel May 13, 1942 in Mankato, MN. Betty raised a large family and helped her husband in dairy farming in Shooks Township. During a time when farm women made everything from scratch, she made soap, quilts, cheese, butter, ice cream and root beer. She had a huge garden and canned or froze a winter supply of produce each year. She courageously followed her heart and mind in all things.

She was a member of the Roman Catholic Church, traditional Latin rite, and was devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

She is survived by her husband, Frederick, of Shooks; children, Peter, Charles, Jeanne, Mary, Olga, Theresa, Patricia, Cecelia, John, Rita, James, Elizabeth, Christopher and Josephine; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ferdie Neft and two sisters, Sr. Olga Neft and Ermaline (Eldor) Schlumpberger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Johanna Neft; her step-mother, Otillia Neft; an infant grandson, Paul Frenzel and two sisters, Veronica (Cyril) Weidenborner and Louise (Morris) Frenzel.
