Collyer, Lysle Chester
Age 84, lifelong Belleville resident, passed away Wednesday at his home. He was born May 4, 1927 in Belleville, son of the late Jesse & Carrie Frances (VanMeter) Collyer. He attended Lincoln Schools and worked for the Wayne County Road Commission for over 30 years. He was a former member of the Belleville Moose Lodge #934 and St. Anthony Catholic Church, Belleville. He met his wife at the Sumpter Roller Rink and was an avid bowler as well for many years. Most of all he loved his tractor and gardening. Survived by his wife of 63 years, Suzanna Sylvia (Sala) Collyer; four children, Denise (Vernon) Watson of Belleville, Phyllis (Keith) Freeman of Romulus, Steve (Michelle) Collyer and Linda (Larry) Vaughn, both of Belleville; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; also a sister, Virginia Banotai of Belleville. Preceded in death by his parents; ten siblings; also a grandson, Timothy Watson. Visitation 1 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011 with an 11 a.m. Funeral at David C. Brown Funeral Home, Belleville. Elder Vernon Watson will officiate. Interment Union-Udell Cemetery, Ypsilanti Twp. Memorials to Glioblastoma research.
