Louis's father Charles was born in New Jersey. At different times Charles was a tailor, a waiter and a watchman (all in and around Newark, NJ).
Louis's mother Elizabeth was born in Switzerland, came to the US when she was eight years old. She married George John Eisele in 1877. They had three (possibly four) children. George Eisele died in 1887.
Elizabeth married Charles Beyer in 1894. They had four children:
