Richard Clayton Abercrombie, 78, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2011. He was a life long resident of Chattanooga, son of the late Hugh and Lillie Abercrombie. Richard was a graduate of McCallie School, Class of 1952 and attended Univeristy of Chattanooga. He was owner of Town and Country Properties and a member of Home Builders Association where he had served as President. He served as Board Member of Crimestoppers and was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America. He was also a member of the Early Ford V-8 Club of America, Lookout Mountain Region 161. He was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church....

Richard was a graduate of McCallie School, Class of 1952 and attended Univeristy of Chattanooga. He was owner of Town and Country Properties and a member of Home Builders Association where he had served as President.
He served as Board Member of Crimestoppers and was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America. He was also a member of the Early Ford V-8 Club of America, Lookout Mountain Region 161. He was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Sandra Joyce Abercrombie; children, Clayton Abercrombie,
Donna Rutherford,
Debbie Parker,
Brad Jackson and
Jeff Jackson;
six grandchildren and
two great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the North Chapel.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Honorable Sam Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
