George G. Spencer,died suddenly at his home in Butler,wednesday night,December 2 [1903], and was buried at Clayville ,Saturday,Decemember 5,the Rev. Chas. H. Fitzwilliam officiating.

Mr. Spencer became afflicted with a severe cold on Sunday,November 29,but his case was not considered serious and he refused to have a physician called,as he was expected to be around in a few days.
On Wednesday night preceding his death,Mrs. Spencer became alarmed and remained at her husbands bedside until 12o'clock. She was finally induced to lie down by his side and take a much needed rest.When she awoke at 2o'clock Mrs. Spencer called to her husband but received no response.She then turned on the light and made an investigation when she was horrified to find her husband had expired while she slept by her side. The remains were brought to Punxsutawney Friday night and given in charge of A.C.Robinson & Son,Undertakers,who conducted the funeral on saturday.
The deceased was born and reared at Lindsey but moved away in 1895. Since then he has lived in Punxsutawney,DuBois and Butler at different times.
He was widely known as a representative of the Singer Sewing Machine Company and in recent years handled pianos extensively. He is survived by his widow and one son,Blaine[Spencer],aged about 20 years. He is also survived by his mother,Mrs. J.O.S.Spencer of Lindsey, and the following brothers,namely:
James Spencer of DuBois;
Elmer Spencer of Bradford;
Ord Spencer of Punxsutawney;
Frank Spencer of Altoona; and Nelson Spencer,whose residence is unknown.
