Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home for William Paul "Slim" Blize, 78.

Mr. Blize was born Sept. 8, 1915 near Success, Mo., and passed away Saturday at a local Taft hospital.

He first came to the Taft and McKittrick oilfields as a child when his father moved here during World War I. He married Reva Creason of Roby, Mo., June 22, 1941 and they returned to Taft to stay in 1944. After his return he was employed by Bear Steat Midstate Oil Company near Belridge. Later he worked for Hoyst Pipe and Supply and several local electrical companies including Braun Electric and Garratt Electric.

He was active in the First Christian Church for many years and was a member of the IBEW for over 45 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Joseph Blize; his mother, Ollie Mires BLize; gour half brothers, guern Bonham, Marshall Bonham, Hallie Blize and Harvey Blize; and four half sisters, Eva, Misha, Jossie and Bessie Thompson. His survivors include four children and their spouses, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a brother in law and his wife, a sister in law and her husband, two cousins, and many nieces, nephews and their children.

Those who wish may pay their respects at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
