Catherine Pearl Smith Catherine Pearl Smith, 86, of St. Albans, passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

Catherine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is known by all whose birthdays, homecomings and holidays were her "special occasions." She was a homemaker and attended First Presbyterian Church of St. Albans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Smith; parents, Albert and Olive R. Fluharty Beuth; son-in-law, Melvin E. Reed.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn E. Reed of St. Albans, Patricia and Donald W. Lewis of Nitro; son and his fiancee, Robert G. Smith and Sharon McCoy; brother, Jack L. and wife, Deloris Beuth of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Catherine R. Moss, Donald M. Lewis, Douglas M. Lewis and Michelle McCoy; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kathleen, Brandon, Matthew and Lyndsey; and also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans, with the Rev. Paul Romine officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
