Harmon O. Gregory, 63, 711 E. Eighth, died this morning at his residence after a sudden illness.
A native of Monticello, Ky., he came to Muncie in 1952 after working for 21 years as a coal miner in West Virginia. He was employed for the past 17 years as a guard at Pendleton Reformatory. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Monticello, Ky., and Moose Lodge 33 in Muncie.
Surviving are the widow, Lena; two daughters, Mrs. W. Roscoe (Judith) Jesse, New Castle, and Mrs. Melvin (Patsy) Ruble, Muncie; a son, Lee, Muncie; five brothers, Ray of Greensburg, Homer of Mooreland, and Gary, Richard and Fred, all of New Castle; six sisters, Mrs. Nannie New, Mrs. Kay Brummley and Doris Sutton, all of New Castle, Mrs. Fosteen Pierce, Anderson, Mrs. Lula Meer, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Lorene Davenport, Monticello, Ky.; and seven grandchildren.
Local services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Parson Mortuary with Rev. Daniel Mattox officiating. Friends may call from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday or prior to services Saturday.
Final rites and burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Monticello, Ky., with Lee Funeral Home in charge.∼Son of ALVIS T. and MARY JANE (CLARK) GREGORY
