She was born February 11, 1923 in Centerfield, Utah to George Allen and Laura Lydia Hansen Nay. She grew up and attended school in Sanpete County, Utah.
She married Rex Hartley Henderson on April 18, 1938 in Kanab, Utah. Viona was a wonderful wife and mother and found much joy in serving her family. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, reading, and home canning.
Viona was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served as a Visiting Teacher, Embroidery and Crocheting Specialist for the Relief Society, and several other callings.
She loved to crochet doilies, Christmas ornaments, and pillow cases. She made sure that each one of her family received the items she had made.
She is survived by her husband, Rex; six children, Bevalene Evans, Spanish Fork, UT; Ardell "Bill" (Carol), Grantville, UT; Gary O. (Fontella), Meridian, ID; Velma H. Boswell, Springville, UT; Rockie (Sue Ellen), Payson, UT; Eileen (Richard), Nephi, UT; twenty-one grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; and thirteen great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joe; a daughter, Carol Ann; ten brothers and sisters; a grandson, Curtis Ward Henderson; one great-granddaughter, Jaxen Trieste Henderson; three sons-in-law, Clifton Evans, David Hanson, and Michael Boswell.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the LDS Chapel located at 585 North Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. Family and friends may call on Saturday morning at the church from 9:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
