Grady Alton Walton Jr., 80, died Sunday, March 6, 2022. Family greeted friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Chamlee Memorial Baptist Church, 1502 Knoxville Street in Fort Valley. Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Chamlee Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan McPherson, Rev. Russ Bozeman and Rev. Seth DeFoor officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Born in Fort Valley to the late Grady Alton Walton Sr. and Winnie Young Walton, Mr. Walton was retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base after 39 years of employment. He loved to fish, having fish fries with the help of his good friend, Robert Spinks, and Trojan football and basketball. He was a longtime member and deacon at Chamlee Memorial Baptist, always willing to help in any way needed. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.
